This is an opportunity for any North Carolina rising high school freshman through rising seniors to apply for the Youth Health Advisor (YHA) Team with the Division of Child and Family Well-Being.
The purpose of the YHA team is to engage and empower adolescents to become active leaders in promoting health and wellness in their communities. Through education, awareness, and action, the team works to increase understanding of adolescent health issues, reduce health disparities, and encourage young people to make healthy choices. The team hopes to help create a healthier future for all youth by supporting growth and development, fostering collaboration and teamwork, and empowering young people to make a positive impact in the world.
The YHA team is an inclusive group of young people and welcomes applications from youth who identify as having special healthcare needs.

New System: We’ve switched from PowerSchool to a new student information system called NCSIS, powered by Infinite Campus.
What to Do: Look out for an email from Infinite Campus titled “NCPS Campus Parent User Account Activation.” This will include a link to set up your account.
Rooms: We’re still using Rooms for teacher communication.
NCPS App: No change here—it’s staying the same.
Class Info: You’ll be able to see your child’s classes starting at Open House.
What’s New with Infinite Campus?
Assignments: Check by class or due date.
Attendance: Review attendance details.
Grades: See grades as they’re posted.
Schedule: Access anytime, anywhere.
Notifications: View received notifications like graded assignments.

We’re excited to invite you to our annual Open House on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to receive your schedule, tour the school, and meet your teachers.
Please note that our counselors will not be available during this event, as they will be focused on finalizing schedules. However, we will have a dedicated procedure in place at the start of the school week to assist with any scheduling conflicts you may have.

Gryphon’s Rising 9th Graders!
To help you transition smoothly into high school, Rocky Mount High School will be hosting a special Freshman Orientation Day.
Date: Thursday, August 15, 2024
To accommodate all rising 9th graders and ensure a comprehensive tour of the school, we will hold two separate sessions:
Session 1: For students with last names A through Johnson, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Session 2: For students with last names Jones through Z, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in and get assigned to a group and escort. This orientation will provide you with valuable information and a chance to familiarize yourself with the campus.
We look forward to welcoming you and helping you get ready for a successful start to high school!
RMHS will be adding something new for the 2024-2025 school year as a senior-only privilege... PAINTED SENIOR PARKING SPACES!
You can find the application on the school's website and main page. Please make sure you read it carefully and adhere to the rules and regulations.
Just some quick points of reference:
There will be a designated area for painted parking spots and those are the ONLY 50 spots that can be painted.
There is a $40 fee (in addition the the parking cost of the parking pass) to paint your spot
The deadline to purchase a painted parking spot is July 31st. (Correction)
There will be a late purchase period in which the painted parking spot will cost increase to $50
Your painted spot idea has to be submitted with the application and approved by Coach Barnes and the administration team.
You are responsible for painting your parking spot.
Applications and paperwork will be turned in at the main office (school is open Monday-Thursday 8 am -4:30 pm for Summer Hours).
There will be NO REFUNDS.
You will be able to paint your parking spot at a designated time between August 12th and August 15th.
You must paint your parking spot back black by the specified date in the application or pay a $50 fine.
