Internet Update: At approximately 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, a fiber line was cut between Raleigh and Rocky Mount, leading to an interruption in internet and phone services for all NCPS . The ECPS and NCPS Demerger/Transition Plan Team convened on Monday, October 16, for a joint meeting. They delivered presentations to the Nash County Public Schools Board of Education, Nash County Board of Commissioners, Edgecombe County Public Schools Board of Education, and Edgecombe County Board of Commissioners during the meeting. The submission of the transition plan to the state is scheduled for November 15.

Good Evening! For those of you who have a Kindergartner enrolled at Williford, please do not forget to provide the student's NC Health Assessment form that is a requirement for all Kindergarteners. If you have already provided the form thank you, if you have not, please contact Nurse Cummings for details if you have not already done so. Nurse Cummings has also provided Health Assessment forms for those who have not provided a Health Assessment form to date. The form has to be completed by both the doctor and parent. This is an invitation to attend either one of the upcoming forums regarding the Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) and Edgecombe County Public Schools (ECPS) Demerger, which goes into effect July 1, 2024. We are inviting impacted families and staff to be a part of our NCPS forum, to learn more about the demerger process. If you’re not getting messages from our school, don’t worry. Just contact us to set up a meeting and get your access code for the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This code helps you see your child’s grades, homework, and how they’re doing, and more. For the app and “rooms” to work for your child, make sure you’re signed up for the PowerSchool Parent Portal. It’s essential to stay informed and engaged in your child’s education. If you can’t meet in person, that’s okay. You can setup a virtual meeting with us. You have to show a proof of identification that proves who you are to get your code. It’s easy, and we will help you! PowerSchool Parent Portal is not new. It’s been around for a long time and we have a goal to reach our entire NCPS community. We are all in this together. Thank you!

Dear Parents and Guardians, This letter is Part 2 of the initial bus email sent on 8/24/2023 regarding our school bus services. This information is intended for those who have submitted the transportation form for the 2023-2024 school year. As previously mentioned, the buses will continue to service all routes, albeit with some delays in reaching the schools. Update on Bus Information: Starting today, Friday, August 25, 2023 - you can login to the link below to find your child's bus information, Some of you may see only "a.m./morning" but it will be the same bus in the "p.m./afternoon."
